Vaginal Dryness

Vaginal dryness is a condition most commonly associated with low estrogen and testosterone and associated with symptoms such as feeling dry and itchy, pain with sex, bladder urgency, bladder urgency, more frequent vaginal and bladder infections, and difficulty achieving orgasm. 80% of women suffer this condition and it is a progressive and treatable medical condition. Lubricants and moisturizers can help with mild symptoms but only systemic or vaginal hormone medications are effective for moderate to severe symptoms, and can be safely used by women who have had breast cancer. Large surveys show that only 5% of women know these facts and too many women suffer in silence, afraid or embarrassed to bring up the subject with their healthcare provider or sexual partner.
